Baretta misgia Rocca

Traditional Corsican hat which disappeared at the end of the 19th century. This cap had three sizes, depending on the region of the island where it was worn: the Capicorsu, the Rocca, the Niulinca. Thus the flap from the edge to the bottom varied from 20 to 40 cm. The Rocca has a half long flap. The colours were sober: red, brown and brown-black.

"Création BoBa" was inspired by the traditional baretta misgia to create a fashionable clothing accessory for men, women and children. Its cotton inner lining, edged with a bias, gives it a perfect finish and a very aesthetic look.

In the past, the bottom of the baretta misgia was used as a "pocket" for small objects (coins, keys). As a reminder of this tradition, the BoBa comes with a metal coin at the bottom of the lining.

Made to measure in sizes 51 to 64.

Materials used

100% pure new wool, 100% cotton (lining), yarn

Entirely handmade, from the manufacture of the felt to the final product.

Rocca is available in natural colours (beige, brown, grey, brown-black) or in vegetable dyes (blue, red, dark green). Other colours are available on request. Extra charge for dyeing: 5€.
